Finnish log homes by Lake Härkäjärvi
By Lake Härkäjärvi you find three typical Finnish log homes; Kivipuro, Hiidenkivi and Kivitasku. The clean waters of Lake Härkäjärvi have strong population of fish. You could well catch a pike, powan, perch, zander, bream, roach or vendace. Two rowing boats are part of the normal equipment of each log home and life jackets can be borrowed from the check-in place. You can also rent both electrical motors and 2,5 hp gasoline motors to the rowing boats.
If you book a guided fishing trip the guide will come to the jetty of the log home and pick you up. For you who have a boat of your own, it is useful to know that a boat ramp is situated close by, and thus it is easy also to bring your own boat to Lake Härkäjärvi. Trolling licenses to Lake Härkäjärvi are also included in the rent of these log homes, but please remember to take care of your personal fishing license (more info on page Fishing in Finland). Thus, Lake Härkäjärvi is an ideal holiday lake for fishing enthusiasts.
All three Finnish log homes by Lake Härkäjärvi are surrounded by mixed forest, which offers good opportunities for picking berries and mushrooms, or just enjoying the tranquility and recreational opportunities of the forest. The lake landscape is characterized by traces of the Ice Age; rocks of varying sizes, all the way up to monumental rocks and rock formations. The Rock and Lake theme fits this place perfectly.
The gardens of these lakeside Finnish log homes, and naturally the log homes themselves, are well suited for children. The gardens are multiform and quite flat, and they are also equipped with a sandbox. The beaches have sandy, firm and gently sloping floors, making them ideal for children to play in the beach and splash in the water. The log homes are equipped with modern amenities and built for all year round cottage life. The Hiidenkivi and Kivitasku log homes are situated on the west side of Hiidenniemi Point, some 250 metres from one another, which also enables a large group to spend a holiday together quite conveniently. Pets are welcome in all three log homes. In addition to the recreational opportunities offered by the log home surroundings, there are several recreational facilities nearby.
As a guest at one of these log homes by Lake Härkäjärvi you can borrow life jackets and bikes from a storage by the check-in place. The idea is that it is free to use these life jackets and bikes during your stay, but you have to pick them up yourself and return them before departure. Please agree a suitable time for borrowing when you at arrival pick up the key to your log home. No reservations can be done, but there is a good amount of life jackets and bikes. We hope that everybody borrows just those jackets and bikes they need and use, and return them when one does not need them, but latest the morning of departure. Thank you!
